A total of 228 attractive rental units are under construction right next to the new Ueberlandpark in the Schwamendingen area of Zurich. The apartments will appeal to a broad mix of tenants, from a 1.5-room studio unit to a spacious family apartment of around 120 m². The project “Über-Gärten” has been designed by the consortium ROBERTNEUN (Berlin) and Penzel Valier (Zurich) and is the outcome of an invitation to participate in a feasibility study process.
Particular attention was paid to the design of the outdoor areas. Each apartment features a spacious loggia, a densely planted “forest garden” will develop between the rows of buildings, and the apartment blocks will have a direct connection to the Ueberlandpark via two bridges.
Construction is due to start in autumn 2023 and the first tenants are expected to move in by spring 2026.
UTOREM is developing the project on behalf of a client and has been in charge of all client-related activities since the project began. Sustainable added value has been achieved for the investor thanks to a market-driven product design and close monitoring of the planning process.
